8-0-0 is a browser game built for football fans who love to argue about the greatest players and teams of all time. The idea is simple to explain and brutally hard to achieve. You assemble an all-time World Cup squad, pick a bench and a trophy-winning manager, and then simulate a full World Cup, eight matches from the group stage to the final. The dream result is a perfect 8-0-0: eight wins, zero draws, zero defeats, and not a single goal conceded along the way.

The name says it all. In a knockout tournament, going unbeaten is hard enough. Going unbeaten without ever drawing, and keeping a clean sheet in every single game, is the kind of run no real team has ever managed across a whole World Cup. That is the bar 8-0-0 sets, and the reason a perfect run feels so special when it finally happens.

How it works

Each game follows the same shape:

• Pick a formation. Choose the shape your team will play, from a classic 4-3-3 to a defensive 5-4-1.
• Draft your XI. You are offered legendary national squads one at a time, and you choose one player from each to fill your eleven positions. Pelé, Maradona, Cruyff, Zidane, Mbappé and dozens more are all on the table, but you can only use each historic team once.
• Build a bench and pick a manager. Three substitutes and one of the 21 World Cup-winning managers, each of whom gives your side a boost.
• Simulate the tournament. Your squad rating drives the result of all eight games, but football is football, and an underdog can always sneak through on penalties.

Modes and features

Expert mode hides every player rating, so you draft on football knowledge alone. Pull off a perfect 8-0-0 in expert mode and you sit at the very top of the leaderboard. The Daily Challenge gives everyone in the world the same pool of teams and the same formation each day, with a single attempt, so you can compare your result against everyone else on that day's board. Every finished run produces a shareable image of your exact squad on a pitch, so you can settle the "my team beats your team" argument once and for all.
